Your brain tells you lies...

A communication lesson:

"Surely, I've posted SO much about this trip and spammed people with photos and videos, I can't post anymore?" ...said my brain, preventing me from posting another adventure-related post.

I was SO wrong.

Reviewing what I've shared recently, I saw that, despite having been away for an epic 4x4 adventure in Botswana, Namibia and South Africa for 3 entire months, keeping an extensive journal, taking hours of footage and thousands of photographs...I'd actually shared relatively little.

🙈 only 7 blogs (none about Namibia!)

🙈 only 3 Youtube videos

🙈 only 4 reels

🙈 quite a few pictures

And that's it!

Now, yes, I was far too busy LIVING the adventure to document it in very realtime, especially as I was off-grid for so much of it. But I've been back over a year - and done another trip to Namibia and Zimbabwe since - and there is so much I haven't shared BECAUSE I was convinced I'd shared so much already 🤦🏼‍♀️

And I haven't really shared that much about many of the other adventures that I've done in my life. And I consider myself to be a 'writer'!

How is this relevant to you?

Because YOU all do your own version of this ALL THE TIME.

At work - perhaps thinking that you've shared all the relevant information or that people have heard enough about that project or announcement, or that you can't 'bug' them again.

Or perhaps at home or with friends - something has been on your mind so much you don’t realise others aren’t up to speed or don’t have the level of understanding that you do.

We all live our own versions of reality - do remember to look up and consider what else could be real to OTHERS. How much is just in your head?! I guarantee it is more than you think 🤔

Now, who wants to see more videos of elephants?! 🐘

So. I'll be writing and sharing more about adventures on the various platforms, and anyone who is curious about the new blogs (either adventure or coaching based) can sign up to the email list here.

Let me know any preferences for what you want to hear about*:

? wildlife encounters

? spectacular scenery

? realities of the African adventure

? preparations and training

? more of the sh*t list (things that weren't as much fun)

? kit geekery

? 4x4 outback adventure in Australia

? thru-hiking alone in the U.S whilst on chemotherapy

? two women 4x4 driving in Zimbabwe

? solo California road trip

(*and if you don't care for any of it, I’ve no idea what you’re doing on this page, but I wish you well! 😝)
